BIO

music & mission

Passionate, Dynamic, Compelling vocals.

Kearney writes, produces and composes from his perspective of living in a crazy, beautiful and endangered world.  Passionate about politics and possibility he makes music to raise the spirit, stir the soul and rouse rebel hearts to be the change the world needs.

His music is borne out of years of working on the streets, listening to  people in their homes - from Glasgow to London, Birmingham, to Belfast, Cornwall to Northumberland.  Having bottled up feelings  born from pain and injustice living within and around us,  he searches for solutions.

Listening to great music from earliest years - celtic, classical, progressive, reggae, blues, club - music was escape and solace.  Big influences were Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Roxy Music, Jethro Tull, Schumann, Rachmaninov, Vaughn Williams - and Johnny Cash.

In a career as a charity CEO Kearney missed artistic creative opportunity. The time came to declutter, grow his hair and release his creative genie, trapped since childhood.

He wants to re-connect with people -  the meal, the party and the tour will be fun.

In Benjamin Cuttle - an entertaining  TV drama - Kearney explores a world he lived through, exposing raw reality and suggesting solutions. Co-writing  lyrics and music with colleagues is the ongoing adventure.

ALBUM & SYNC

WAR WITHOUT BULLETS & CUTTLELOOSE

Ideas became lyrics. Poems became songs. Scripts needed music. Online collaboration became 20 original tracks and studio recordings.

Kearney's first album - War Without Bullets – launches in 2025.  Featuring Dario Cei and members of the Pisa Conservatoire.  Cuttleloose, a collaboration with James Lascelles is a work in progress.

Stephen is currently working on developing a music and performance collaboration to highlight the climate emergency, and planning a European tour.
